The role:

To provide accurate rotas for all staff in connection with provision of reliable and responsive person-centred care and support to people in their own homes and to play a supportive role to Team Leaders as part of the management of a high-quality support service for older adults in Bromsgrove.
To work with families and partner agencies to facilitate the provision of a co-ordinated service which meets the identified needs of the individuals.
To have regard at all times for the requirement for delivery by Care Force of respectful personal care, support with daily living activities and general domestic assistance whilst maintaining the dignity of service users and promotion of their independence.

Active participation in front line care duties may be required to meet contract requirements.


Main Duties:

  • To use and be confident in using People Planner and Access Planning etc as a planning and rostering software package.
  • To co-ordinate and deploy staff resources as efficiently as possible in relation to the needs of service users and the requirements of the service in such a way as to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness in the use of staffing resources including continuity of carers, adherence to times requested by (and to suit) service users
  • To liaise with the Care Manager regarding staff holidays and absences.
  • To plan ahead to meet the needs of service users as identified by their individual Person-Centred Plan and communicate with service users with regard to any changes in available times and available carers.
  • To optimise the rotas so as to support service users in all aspects of managing their homes and in maintaining continuity of carers and the safety, security, hygiene and comfort of the service users’ home environments.
  • To take appropriate action in the event of emergencies which come to your notice and ensure that the Care Manager is informed promptly including the requirement for the Care Co-ordinator to be prepared to attend the service user in case of emergency or staffing difficulties.
  • To carry out front line care if and when needed as directed by Registered manager
  • To answer the phone, take and document messages and take action where needed.
  • To attend meetings, taking minutes and keeping notes;
  • To liaise with staff in other departments and with external contacts;
  • To organise and store paperwork, documents and computer-based information;
  • To carry out administrative tasks to support the front carers, team leaders and managers 


  • To maintain strict confidentiality at all times, in accordance with the agreed policy.
  • To follow guidelines and procedures and to be professional and accountable at all times
  • To provide regular verbal and written reports to your Registered Manager.
  • To carry out all work in a manner consistent with the aims of Care Force.
  • To comply with Care Force’s organisational Policies.
  • To follow Health and Safety guidelines carefully and to alert the Care Manager immediately of any concerns which come to your notice in relation to Health and Safety issues.
  • To promote anti discriminatory practice and to ensure that the services are responsive to the specific needs of all service users without discrimination.
  • To identify training needs in discussion with your Registered Manager and to attend training events and courses as required.
  • To observe any written policies, procedures and guidelines for good practice agreed by Care Force.
  • To accept regular support and supervision from your Registered Manager.
  • Any other duties as required as defined by the Registered manager.
